The Shieling is an elegant four bedroom house available for holiday rental, overlooking the English Channel in the picturesque Cinque Port of Hythe, set in a third of an acre of garden. It is a ten minute walk from the town centre.  Hythe enjoys a micro-climate and it is often warmer and sunnier here  than most places in the UK. The Shieling enjoys a very sunny garden from dawn to dusk and is perfect for children to play and explore.

Family Accommodation

The house is a perfect base for exploring London (an easy journey on the new high speed rail link)  and the south east. Kent is often known as “the garden of England”.   It is a perfect home from home, whether you are an overseas visitor or even a local returning to visit friends and family in the area

The House

In 1926, an Infantry major based at the Small Arms School, entranced by the beauty and tranquillity of Hythe, with its purposeful High Street and elegant architecture, commissioned the building of The Shieling.
